EFS Webcast: 'New EC Guidance on Customs Valuation in a Series of Sales’
Tuesday, 15 December 2020 | 19.00 – 20.15 CET
EFS, Erasmus University Rotterdam is hosting a webcast on the new Guidance on customs valuation in a series of sales.
On 25 September 2020 the European Commission published an updated version of its Guidance document on customs valuation. The most important change to the Guidance document relates to the removal of the domestic sale. Additionally, new examples have been added to the Guidance document explaining how the customs value should be determined in a series of sales. The removal of the domestic sale principle has as a consequence that a sale between two EU residing parties can be regarded as a sale for export and thus the transaction could be used as the basis to determine the customs value of imported goods in the EU if it is the last sale. The speakers will explain the UCC's approach to determing the customs value in a series of sales, the background of changing the Guidance document by the European Commission and elaborate in-depth on how the customs value should be determined in a series of sales under the new Guidance document by presenting various examples.
