EFS conference: Legal protection and certainty in a rapidly changing legislative indirect tax and customs environment
Thursday 13 February 2025 | 13.30 – 18.00 | Erasmus University Rotterdam, Forumzaal (M3-15), Van der Goot building
On 13 February 2025, EFS is organizing its concluding conference for the three post-master programmes, in EU Customs Law and Indirect Tax (Dutch and English edition). The theme of the conference will be: ‘Legal protection and certainty in a rapidly changing legislative indirect tax and customs environment’. Three speakers will give their views on the developments which are currently taking place, whereafter an expert panel reflects on the presentation during an interactive discussion.
Join us for an insightful conference on “Legal protection and certainty in a rapidly changing legislative indirect tax and customs environment.” This conference addresses the pressing issues arising from significant legislative changes, such as VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) and the proposed reforms to the EU Customs Union. Our expert speakers will offer practical insights on e-invoicing and digital reporting under ViDA, focusing on legal protection and fundamental rights. They will also share their experiences with digital reporting and discuss recent developments in legal protection and certainty related to EU customs law. The conference will feature an interactive panel discussion, where keynote speakers and specialists from practice will provide further reflections on these themes. Also the Dutch Inspection on taxes, surcharges and customs (Inspectie belastingen, toeslagen en douane) will share insights in the investigation they are currently conducting on legal protection in disputes over customs duties.
We are pleased to invite tax professionals from the Netherlands and abroad with a background in consultancy and practice and working for government authorities, tax and customs administrations, international organisations, industry or the academic world to attend this conference, which also officially marks and celebrates the completion of the learning journey of participants in the 2024-edition of the EFS post-master programmes in EU Customs Law and Indirect Tax (Dutch and English edition).
The conference is free of charge and participants are eligible for 3 Permanent Education points.
